Developing our Players

Wellbeing and Education

Our four Wellbeing and Education Managers provide individualised support to Pathways Players from Wellbeing Check Ins to Career Planning and Post Football Transition assistance.

Our Pathways Education curriculum covers four areas:

  • High Performance Athlete Education - Nutrition, Recovery, Mental Skills and Time Management
  • Life Skills Development - Financial Literacy, Communication, Leadership and Social Media Awareness
  • Post Football Career Planning - Tertiary Education Pathways, Vocational Training, Work Experience and Career Counselling
  • Personal Wellbeing - Mental Health Awareness, Respectful Relationships, Cultural Awareness and Social Responsibility

Boarding and Relocation Support

The Knights operate a purpose built boarding house, a safe structured environment for young players living away from home.

Live-in house parents ensure every player is supported, supervised and connected to our town.

Regional players from the Northern Region and Mid North Coast remain in their home communities until school completion, unless relocation is agreed for specific reasons.

Knights Academy

The Knights Academy is the pinnacle of our Pathways Program, designed for an elite group of emerging players who have demonstrated the attributes required to progress toward NRL and NRLW football.

Limited to 12 male and 12 female athletes, selection into the Academy is a privilege earned through consistent high performance, strong character and an uncompromising commitment to development.

The Academy exists to produce NRL and NRLW players where identified athletes are prepared for the physical, technical and mental demands of elite football.

Each player receives individualised development, enhanced performance support, specialised coaching and direct exposure to NRL and NRLW environments.

Our approach is holistic. Alongside football development, players are supported in their education, employment and personal growth to make sure they are developing not just as athletes, but as people.
