Vale Adrian Bubb

The nib Newcastle Knights would like to express our sincere condolences to friends and family of Knights Old Boy number #34, Adrian Bubb.

Adrian passed away during the early hours of Tuesday morning after a short hospitalisation for cancer related treatment.

The Once a Knights Old Boys paid tribute to their much-loved mate and former teammate earlier this week with these fitting words.

"A great bloke, a great mate, with a wonderful sense of humour, intelligent and tough as they come. He came over from rugby union when the Knights first came into inception working his way through under 21s to reserve grade and eventually making his debut in first grade against the Balmain Tigers at Leichhardt Oval - a memorable match."

Stories about Bubby from the early days were legendary, full of character, full of life - he is an original old boy and will be sorely missed.

Many blessings to Adrian’s family and friends as they get through this tough time.Adrian is survived by his wife Suzanne and 4 children: Jacob; Jasmine; Olivia; Zali. May the love and support of Bubby's ex-teammates give you the strength to carry on

One of Adrian's extended family members wanted to share this anecdote.

"Adrian joked with the wonderful nursing staff that they shouldn't be concerned if they saw blue when they took his blood as red and blue flowed in his veins."

Classic Bubby to the end; gone but never forgotten.
