Ultimate Guide: Manu withdrawn for Roosters

The nib Newcastle Knights return home to their faithful at McDonald Jones Stadium for a big clash against rivals, the Sydney Roosters this Friday night.

The Knights went down to Manly last start, but will eye off a valuable two points against the Roosters to push higher up the ladder having beaten the Tricolours earlier in the season.

The Roosters have won one of their last five, although ran in 50 points against the Dragons last start.

UPDATE: In one change on the bench, Kurt Mann comes out of the team with Phoenix Crossland included on the interchange.

For the Roosters, Joey Manu has withdrawn from the side, replaced by Adam Keighran in the centres.

EARLIER: Knights Head Coach, Adam O’Brien, named his 22-man squad for the clash with the Sydney Roosters.

Winger Hymel Hunt will make his first NRL appearance this season and Pasami Saulo is back on the bench after passing the required HIA protocols. 

For the Roosters, Luke Keary (concussion symptoms) and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (hamstring) are back on deck for the Roosters.

Joey Manu goes back to the centres.

Mid-season recruit Matt Lodge comes into the starting side to fill the void left by Siosiua Taukeiaho (cheekbone).

Nat Butcher moves to the second row to cover for Sitili Tupouniua (knee).

FORM GUIDE

Last round, the Newcastle Knights were defeated 42-12 by Manly.

The side currently sits in 13th and will aim to keep their season on track with a result against the Roosters.

Earlier in the season, the Knights took down the Roosters 20-6 away from home back in Round 1.

The Tricolours come into the game off the back of a 54-26 against the St George Illawarra Dragons.
