Aidan Guerra raises over $11,000 for bushfire victims

Aidan Guerra take a bow.

In an incredible act of support and kindness, the nib Newcastle Knights veteran successfully raised a total of $11,200 for the victims of the recent bushfires through auctioning his six QLD State of Origin jerseys.

The local and national rugby league community quickly got behind the premiership winning backrower with even a winning bid of $2,000 coming from All Blacks veteran Dane Coles who lives in Wellington.

Guerra remained rather humble and gracious on the enormity of his donation, but his wife Belinda showcased her pride and the level of contribution he made via Instagram.

“These jerseys mean SO much to Aidan,” she said.

“A Queenslander who lived out his childhood dream by representing Queensland in the State of Origin.

“He hardly uses social media, so his thumbs are probably going to be sore after these 48 hours.”

Keep your eyes peeled for another auction set to take place featuring more Knights donating treasured items to support those affected by the NSW Bushfires.
