'Footy Show' throwback! Chief takes on the Supercars

It's not everyday you get to fly around the streets of Newcastle in a V8 Supercar.

However, in a throwback to his days as a 'Daredevil Dude' on The Footy Show, nib Newcastle Knights legend Paul Harragon got the chance to do exactly that with none other than recently crowned Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin.

While he may have been known as the 'Chief' in his playing days due to his fearless attitude, courage and tough-as-nails approach to the game, Harragon looked less than comfortable in McLaughlin's lightning fast Ford Mustang.

While the action was all in good fun, there was something other than the thrill of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity pushing Harragon to do the lap.

"It's great because it's part of the Mark Hughes Foundation," Harragon told NBN News before jumping in the car.

"Some people have paid some good money to come and have the experience.

"To be a part of it is pretty awesome."
