nib Newcastle Knights NRLW star Simone Karpani has been named the club's nominee for the 2026 Veronica White Medal, recognising her outstanding contribution to the community.
The prestigious award celebrates NRLW players who demonstrate a strong commitment to making a positive difference through their work away from the field.
Voting is now open, with fans encouraged to get behind Karpani and support her nomination.
Karpani has made a significant contribution across the Knights' community programs this season, travelling throughout regional NSW to deliver school and junior club programs in Moree, Tamworth, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Port Stephens, Camden Haven and Muswellbrook.
Closer to home, she has played a leading role in the Knights' NRLW School BLITZ program, sharing messages of respect, wellbeing and positive behaviour with primary school students.
Her community work also extends to Ronald McDonald House Charities Newcastle, where she regularly visits families and staff and has built genuine relationships with families navigating serious illness.
Karpani said she was honoured to be recognised for the work she is passionate about.
"I'm really honoured to be nominated for the Veronica White Medal," Karpani said.
"I've loved being able to get out into the community, meet so many great people and hopefully make a positive difference, particularly for young girls coming through the game.
"The Newcastle and regional communities give us so much support, so it's really special to be able to give something back."
