The Newcastle Knights are proud to recognise Macquarie Scorpions JRLFC as our July Club of the Month for their outstanding commitment to growing the game and creating an inclusive community.
Over the past two years, the club has achieved an incredible 258% increase in female participation, driven by a welcoming environment where girls are encouraged, supported, and given equal opportunities. With women making up 60% of the executive committee, strong female leadership continues to inspire the next generation of players.
The Scorpions also celebrate the diversity of their community, with 33% of players identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Their dedicated Indigenous Round recognises and celebrates Indigenous culture while strengthening connections and participation across the club.
Committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to play, the club provides all registered players with a full training kit and supplied every player with an Indigenous jersey during Indigenous Round at no cost, helping remove financial barriers for families.
