The Knights staved off a brave Dragons outfit 22-20 in a tight contest at McDonald Jones Stadium to open Round 16.
The Dragons outscored the Knights four tries to three but a simple missed conversion by Val Holmes after Setu Tu's 61st minute try proved costly.
The try to Tu and another to tireless forward Dylan Egan with nine minutes to play had the Red V within touch of their second win of the season but they couldn't find a match-winner in the dying minutes.
The Knights' ninth win of the season lifts them to third place on the ladder while the Dragons are languishing in last place and staring down the possibility of the joint venture's first ever wooden spoon.

Dylan delivers: With Kalyn Ponga rested, plenty of responsibility fell to Dylan Brown and the Kiwi playmaker delivered big time with 195 run metres, two try assists and six tackle breaks.

Sandon Smith Try

Tyrell Sloan Try
33 min: Another try for the Dragons from a Kyle Flanagan kick as the halfback chips in behind Dom Young for Tyrell Sloan to use his explosive speed and touch down for the 50th try of his NRL career. Sloan did a superb job to control the rolling ball at full tilt. Val Holmes converts from wide out. 12-12
