Knights re-sign NRLW forward leaders

The nib Newcastle Knights have received a boost ahead of the 2026 NRLW season, re‑signing key forwards Tayla Predebon and Kayla Romaniak until the end of 2028.

Predebon is a triple premiership winner who has become a leader in the Knights forward pack. Since making her debut in 2022, the Gloucester‑born forward has made 46 NRLW appearances.

Romaniak, a proud Kurri Kurri local, also debuted in 2022 and has played an important role in the Knights’ back‑to‑back NRLW premiership wins. She has made 36 appearances and has represented the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII.

Head Coach Ben Jeffries said both players are valuable members of the squad.

“Kayla and Tayla are great people with a strong work ethic,” Jeffries said.

“They are excellent role models for young players, especially our local talent who want to progress into elite pathways.

“We’re excited about the impact they’ll continue to have on and off the field and are thrilled they’ll remain Knights until at least 2028.”
