After reviewing an outstanding pool of submissions, Denman Sandy Hollow JRLFC stood out for their commitment to accessibility, female participation, and grassroots development.
As one of the smaller clubs in Group 21, Denman Sandy Hollow has demonstrated that community impact is not determined by size. The club has maintained the lowest registration fees in their competition for the past two seasons, ensuring rugby league remains accessible to all families regardless of their financial situation.
Their commitment to female participation continues to grow, with dedicated pathways through both Blues Tag and Women's Tackle programs. The club has worked hard to create safe and welcoming environments for female players of all ages and experience levels, supported by knowledgeable coaching staff and an inclusive club culture.
Investing in people is at the heart of Denman Sandy Hollow. The club fully funds all coaching and volunteer accreditations, removing financial barriers and empowering their grassroots workforce - made up of parents, guardians, former players, and community members - to develop the game from the ground up.
From supplying all players and volunteers with apparel at no cost, to hosting a whole-of-club season launch followed by a free community barbecue, Denman Sandy Hollow consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every person feels welcomed and valued from day one.
