The nib Newcastle Knights will be holding tryouts for their official 2026 Junior Newcastle Knights Cheerleading Team.
We are searching for talented and enthusiastic 5 to 16 year olds to join our 2026 Sparkle Squad.
This team has been created for our junior supporters who love to perform and are eager to spread their love of dance throughout the community.
Auditions for the 2026 Sparkle Squad will be held on Wednesday 4 February, 2026 at McDonald Jones Stadium, 294 Turton Road, Broadmeadow.
The auditions will take place across two age groups, please see below for further details:

All are welcome in our supportive tryout environment.
What experience is required?
Applicants must have some level of dance experience as our squad work will be at an elementary level (dependent on age groups). However, applicants will not just be selected based on their dance ability, but also their overall can-do attitude!
What does a Sparkle Squad team member receive?
- The opportunity to perform alongside the Red Energy Newcastle Knights Dance Squad for three home games throughout the 2026 season
- Training under highly experienced choreographers and performers
- Working within a positive team environment
- Categorised into classes based on ability to ensure quality individual based training.
- Mentored by our current Newcastle Knights Dance Squad who are positive role models for young aspiring dancers
Applicants will be required to download and complete the below registration form which includes important information regarding the format of the tryout process and return it via email to info@bostalent.com.au along with a current headshot for identification purposes, which will remain the property of Bos Talent.
All applications must be in by 5pm, Tuesday 3 February 2026.
