Stripes Are Back: Iconic kit returns for '26

They’re back.

The bold red and blue vertical stripes that defined generations of nib Newcastle Knights history are making their long-awaited return in 2026.

Worn with pride through two iconic eras - first in the Club’s first golden era of 1997-2000, when the Knights built their reputation on grit, heart and community, and again throughout the 2010s - the stripes have always meant more than just a jersey.

In 2026, they’re back where they belong - on the field, on our players, and on our fans.

This is more than a return to tradition - it’s a rekindling of the Knights DNA that runs deep throughout our region.

Proud. Passionate. Unmistakably Knights.

These colours are ours

Built on Tradition

Crafted in the club’s unmistakable red and blue, the 2026 home jersey honours the stripes of old while embracing modern design and performance innovation.

The stripes have been worn through two eras - the first from 1997-2000, with the second from 2012-2018.

The vertical pattern proudly connects players to those who came before - from the pioneers who wore it in the late 90s, to the fans who filled the hill and roared through every era.

This is a jersey made to be worn with pride.

From the Heartland to the World

From the grit, steel and salt of the Hunter to the stands of McDonald Jones Stadium, the red and blue stripes have always been synonymous with the Newcastle Knights.

Like the those who came before them, Members and supporters are set to be entertained by an exciting new generation of Knights sporting the iconic stripes, led by the likes of Kalyn Ponga, Bradman Best, Phoenix Crossland and Dylan Lucas, as well as new additions such as Dylan Brown and Sandon Smith.

The stripes will make their official return to the field in next year's historic Round 1 clash with the Cowboys in Las Vegas, marking the first time the Knights will play an NRL fixture outside of Australia and New Zealand.
