The nib Newcastle Knights have defeated the Dolphins 18-14 in their Anzac Round clash at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

In Jacob Saifiti's milestone 150th game, the side downed the home side by four points to bounce back and register their third win of the campaign.

Young fullback David Armstrong shone on debut scoring the first try of the game while Dane Gagai and Tyson Gamble also got their name on the scoresheet.

The red and blue will now return home on May 5 for Sunday afternoon football, taking on the Warriors at McDonald Jones Stadium. Take your seat here.

HOW IT PLAYED OUT:

1st min - The match kicked off as the two sides walked out side by side to honour Anzac Round and pay respects to those who have served our country.

8th min - It was a dream start for the Knights, with Knight #349 crossing over on debut.

An inside ball from Jackson Hastings split the Dolphins defence and David Armstrong burst through the hole before to open the scoring, before his teammates swarmed him in the in-goal.

17th min - The Knights were completing high and earning field position before securing their second try of the match.

Tyson Gamble hit Dane Gagai with a hard pass as the centre muscled his way over the line to extend the Knights early lead.

25th min - The Dolphins were next to score after a midfield break led to former Knight Oryn Keeley grabbing their first four-pointer.

37th min - With only a few minutes remaining in the first half, forward Adam Elliott produced a huge defensive play to hold up Dolphins fullback Trai Fuller over the line.

40th min - The Knights would go into the sheds ahead 10-6.

The red and blue ended their first half with a 100% completion rate plus over 1,000 run metres in an encouraging opening display.

47th min - The Knights were first to score in the second half as Phoenix Crossland provided a spark.

The No.14 had fresh legs and got through the Dolphins defence to find Tyson Gamble backing up in support.

57th min - Gamble was involved again down the other end of the field with another awe-inspiring effort to deny Kurt Donoghoe a try.

77th min - The Dolphins bridged the gap with a late try through Jamayne Isaako.

78th min - The home side were within four with two to play when Jamayne Isaako set up Jake Averillo.

80th min - The Knights held onto claim their third win of the season with a 18-14 result.
