Kurt Gidley joins the KNIGHTS // HQ Podcast

We're joined by one of the most passionate and loyal players to ever don the red and blue jersey on the KNIGHTS // HQ Podcast, Kurt Gidley.

On another edition of 'Legends Chats', 'Gids' comes on to reminisce on his playing days and give us an update on what he's doing now post-footy.

Gidley played 251 games for the Newcastle Knights across a 17 year career. A Novocastrian through and through, he would represent his country, state and club in a distinguished career at the top level.

A highly consistent, versatile and leader of the Club during his playing days, Gidley would become a Hall of Fame member in 2022.

We kick off the podcast with 'Guess that Game' we're we quiz 'Gids' on his knowledge of some of the most memorable games from his career including a certain match-winning moment against the Melbourne Storm in 2014.

"I wanted to visualize the rotation of the ball over the first three to five metres," Gidley said on KNIGHTS // HQ.

"When I kicked well I followed that process and I stayed really disciplined around that.

"That is exactly what I tried to do with that kick."

Kurt also spoke about his passion for the Club, life post footy and helping set the Club's new standards, with the word 'Grit' and addressing the players on the meaning of the word.

We round out the podcast with a classic behind-the-scenes story from a famous stitch-up on the old 'Footy Show' involving the Gidley brothers, Michael Hagan and Mario Fenech.

Don't forget to leave a review of the podcast and tell us who you want to hear from inside the Knights camp.
