Pathways Report: NSW Cup side continue winning ways

In this week's pathways report, we take a look at the nib Newcastle Knights pathways teams in the Knock-On-Effect NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup competitions.

The NSW Cup side hosted the Western Suburbs Magpies at McDonald Jones Stadium last Friday night while the Jersey Flegg team travelled down to Sydney on Sunday to take on the Roosters.

NSW Cup - Knights 46-10 Magpies

The NSW Cup side has won its fourth game in a row with a 36-point victory over the Western Suburbs Magpies on Friday.

The team ran in eight tries to the Magpies two to record the strong win.

David Armstrong continued his impressive form scoring the first try. The fullback would finish the game with a hat-trick combined with one try-assist and 172 run metres.

Winger Laitia Moceidreke crossed for a double including a length off the field effort started from the Knights in-goal by Lachlan Miller.

NSW Cup: Round 20 Highlights

Cooper Jenkins, Dane Aukafolau and Hymel Hunt also got their name on the scoresheet.

Miller added seven goals with the boot as the team recorded its biggest win of the campaign.

The side moved up to 11th with the result, four points outside of the top eight and ahead of another crucial game against the Rabbitohs this Sunday at Redfern Oval.

Jersey Flegg Cup - Knights 14-36 Roosters

The Jersey Flegg Cup side has gone down by 22 points to the Sydney Roosters on Sunday at Wentworth Park.

Braydon Guyan opened the scoring for the Knights before Jahoiyakim Afoa crossed for a quickfire double.

The Roosters added one try before the break as the Knights led 14-6.

However, the Tricolours would score five of their own in the second half to take the two points.

The Jersey Flegg Cup side sit in 12th spot on the ladder after 17 games and will look to bounce back against the Rabbitohs next round.
