Fitzgibbon set to depart the Club at season's end

nib Newcastle Knights forward Lachlan Fitzgibbon will depart the Club at the end of the 2023 NRL season to take up an opportunity in the Super League with the Warrington Wolves.

A proud Novocastrian and Souths Newcastle junior, 'Fitzy' made his debut for the red and blue during the 2015 season after coming through the pathways ranks.

Renowned for his toughness and line-running, the second-row forward notched 100 games in the NRL earlier this season having spent nine campaigns in Newcastle.

The 29-year-old scored 31 tries from his 112 games to date in the premiership, forming a lethal combination with Kalyn Ponga on the left edge over the years.

"Lachlan has been a champion of the club," Knights Director of Football Peter Parr said.

"We cannot thank him enough for what he has done at the Knights and we wish him all the best in the next part of his journeyā€¯

The Club would like to wish Lachlan and his partner, Sophie, all the very best for the future and thank 'Fitzy' for his contribution in the red and blue jersey.
