Jacob Saifiti nominated for Ken Stephen Medal

nib Newcastle Knights Prop, Jacob Saifiti has been nominated for the 2023 Ken Stephen Medal for his commitment to work in the community.

The annual Ken Stephen Medal recognises the efforts of a NRL player who has committed time off the field to make an impactful difference in charity work, youth development and/or community support. A player is selected by their NRL Club, as a role model within this space. Vote here.

Saifiti has dedicated his time to visiting the John Hunter Children’s Hospital, where he connects and provides comfort to young patients and their families. Overtime, he’s formed genuine relationships with the hospital staff and children in care. 

Additionally, Jacob attended the Variety Children’s Annual Christmas Party, where his presence created immense joy and lasting memories for those who attended.

 

Saifiti embodies the NRL’s core values of inclusivity, positivity, unity and discipline. His actions inspire others, including his fellow teammates, to embrace these values and actively participate in similar initiatives. Vote here. 

This year will be the 35th year of the Ken Stephen Medal, previous Knight’s recipients include Connor Watson and Paul Harragon.
