Knights announce further game development initiatives in the region

The nib Newcastle Knights are excited to announce further investment in our game development with upcoming initiatives in the Newcastle & Maitland region.

The Knights will work alongside the NRL Game Development team to promote opportunities for everyone to engage in our game. 

NRL Junior Member Clinic 2022

Our Club has a long and proud history of supporting grassroots rugby league and we remain committed to nurturing the next generation of talent and participation from men and women.

The initiatives will include school introductory programs, see our upcoming key event dates below: 

NRL & Newcastle Knights League Tag Carnival

  • Wednesday 22nd March at Lyall Peacock Oval, Toronto
  • Friday 24th March at Salamander Bay Sports Complex
  • Participation from all.  

Knights 9’s Carnival – Under 12’s

  • Tuesday 28th March at Somerset Park, Thornton
  • Wednesday 29th March at Hunter Barnett Fields, Windale.
  • Thursday 30th March at Mount View Park,Cessnock.
  • Participation from all.

Knights 9's Carnival - Under 10's

  • Thursday 27th April at Hunter Barnett Fields, Windale
  • Friday 28th April at Morpeth Oval
  • Participation from all.

Rebecca Young Challenge – Under 12’s

  • Friday 5th May at Kurri Kurri Sportsground. 
  • Female participation only.

The Newcastle Knights & NRL Game Development team will also host the 'Newcastle Knights Hunter Premiership' for secondary schools throughout Terms 1 & 2. The finals will return to McDonald Jones Stadium. Learn more.
