Get to know: Greg Marzhew

In the lead-up to the 2023 NRL season, we caught up with some of our new nib Newcastle Knights players to get to know them better.

We sat down with Greg Marzhew to chat about his impressive debut and his best piece of advice.

Where is your hometown?

Mangere, Auckland NZ

Junior Club:

Mangere East Hawks and the North West Wolves in 2011 and 2012 where I played under 14s and 16s. 

Your journey to the game? Where have you played before?

In 2015, I played for the Gold Coast Titans under 20s. In 2017, I played for the Parramatta Eels under 20s. I then returned to the Gold Coast Titans in 2020. 

What are you most looking forward to this season?

Starting a new journey at the Knights and being part of its historic culture.

Greatest on-field moment?

My NRL debut and my try-on debut.

Marzhew debuted for the Gold Coast Titans against Melbourne Storm in Round 13 last year. With an impressive 158 running metres, 66 post-contact metres and an opening try on debut. 

Greatest off-field achievement?

Run your own race and don't compare your journey with others.

What do you usually eat before a game?

Spaghetti Bolognese
