The nib Newcastle Knights will head down to Campbelltown Stadium for a battle with the Wests Tigers this Sunday.

After the last start loss to the Bulldogs, the team will chase a vital two points for the run home to finish the 2022 season.

TUESDAY: Bradman Best has overcome his thumb injury to be named in the centres and Simi Sasagi will return to the interchange bench. 

NSW Blues front rower Jacob Saifiti will join his brother in the starting front row.

Kurt Mann and Hymel Hunt have been named on the extended bench, along with Jack Johns, Jirah Momoisea and Adam Clune. 

For the Tigers, Youngster Fonua Pole gets his second crack in the starting side as the replacement for Jackson Hastings (ankle).

Tom Freebairn will make his NRL debut off the bench. Luke Garner remains sidelined with a neck injury.

FORM GUIDE

The Newcastle Knights went down to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 24-10 last start at home.

The side sits in 14th with five games remaining in the regular season.

As for the Tigers, they defeated the Brisbane Broncos last round 32-18 at Suncorp Stadium.

The Tigers sit one spot below the Knights on the ladder with four wins in 2022.

Earlier in the season, Newcastle beat the Tigers back in Round 2 with a 26-4 result.

KEY MATCH-UP

Bradman Best v Asu Kepaoa: Bradman returns to the centres and will line-up against Asu Kepaoa in an exciting match-up.

Best returns to the field having overcome a thumb injury and will look to inject his power into the attack.

In 12 appearances this season, Best has scored four tries, provided three try-assists and averaged 110 run metres per game.

The dynamic centre will come up against Kepaoa who has provided two tries and three try-assists in his last six games.
