Get to know: Kirra Dibb

With 22 days to go for the 2022 NRLW season, we caught up with our squad members to get to know them a little better.

We sat down with inaugural NRLW recruit and Exercise Physiologist Kirra Dibb to discuss her impressive achievements and epic journey so far.

Born on the Central Coast, Kirra exploded onto the rugby league scene in 2019, making her debut for the NSW Women's Blue Origin team and Sydney Roosters.

The 24-year-old's athletic utility adds impressive talent, experience and drive to our NRLW squad.

Name: Kirra Dibb

Position/s: Five-Eighth

Junior Club: Kincumber Colts

How did you find Rugby League?

My brother Troy played and I looked up to him and wanted to follow in his footsteps.

Your journey in the game? Where have you played before?

I started as a Kincumber Colts junior and then I played league tag for the Erina Eagles. I also played for the Berkeley Vale Panthers in the under-9s before playing for the North Sydney Bears in the NSWRL Women's Premiership.

In my first year [2019], I played in the Country Champs for the Central Coast Roosters, the Women's NSW Origin and the Prime Minister's XIII. In 2020, I played for the New Zealand Warriors before moving to the Newcastle Knights last year.

Where is your hometown?

I was born in North Gosford and grew up in Copacabana on the Central Coast.

What are you most looking forward to this season?

I’m looking forward to building what we started in 2021 and hopefully seeing some more success.

What are your goals for the 2022 season?

Take out the Premiership with the Knights. On a personal level, I'd also love to make the World Cup squad at the end of the year.

A homemade choc chip cookie.

Best piece of advice you've received?

Throughout your career, not everyone is going to back you so you need to back yourself and stay true to who you are and what you can achieve.

The Shawshank Redemption

Greatest on-field moment?

I have a few. My NRL debut for the Roosters. My Origin debut and win. My Australian debut and win. All-Stars was also a massive moment for me.

Greatest off-field moment?

My career as an Exercise Physiologist and seeing my clients grow.

Brad Fittler and every single female athlete.
