The nib Newcastle Knights can confirm winger, Edrick Lee, will leave the club at the end of the 2022 season to join new NRL franchise, the Dolphins, on a multi-year deal.
Lee informed teammates of his decision today, along with his commitment to finishing the year with the same energy and purpose he has always shown, despite his enormous adversities and challenges in recent times.
A fan favourite and popular member of the dressing shed during his four years at the Knights, Lee overcome a season-ending foot injury to return to the field in 2022.
Newcastle Knights and Wests Group CEO, Mr Phillip Gardner, echoed the sentiments towards ‘Eddie’.
“As a Club, we’re very happy for Edrick and his family to return home to Queensland and secure his future,” Gardner said.
“In the end, it was a long-term deal we couldn’t match.
“We thank Edrick for his time at the Knights and look forward to seeing him continue his career and his incredible work off the field with Deadly Choices.”
The Knights would like to wish Edrick all the very best for the future.
