Season Review: Hymel Hunt

A key link in the nib Newcastle Knights attack, Hymel Hunt has delivered another consistent year of football in 2021.

The 27-year-old has just played his third season in the red and blue scoring four tries in his 17 appearances.

'H' was rewarded with an extension of his contract tying him to the Club until the end of the 2023 season.

Hunt played in the first six games of the season including a two-try special and the match winner against the Warriors in Round 2.

Irregular injuries threatened to derail Hymel's season, however the winger made a triumphant return in the Round 15 win over the Warriors.

The 28-year-old played a key role in seven wins from a possible 10 at the back end of the season in his return from injury.

Hunt continually puts up proven stats with his strong runs from the back and his athleticism out wide.

Hymel ran for over 2000 metres with an average of 126 running meters per game and had six line-breaks.

Along with his four tries, the winger made 30 tackle breaks and contributed 14 offloads.

Having just surpassed 100 games at the top level, Hunt will again play a fundamental role in the Knights backline in 2022.
