Man of the Match: Leaders stand tall

There's no getting away from it. That one hurt.

The nib Newcastle Knights officially bowed out of the 2021 season after a 28-20 loss to Parramatta.

The Knights flew out of the blocks early, before being forced to chase the game after the Eels kicked out to a 16-10 halftime lead.

The Novocastrians gave it everything in the closing stages, and there were plenty of strong performances from the troops.

Here were our stand outs, but don't forget to have your say below!

Enari Tuala

What a second half to the season this man has had.

Since shifting to wing, Tuala has scored 11 tries in just seven games, including two hat-tricks.

Tuala crossed for one of those hat-tricks today, ran for 158 metres and broke six tackles in a stand out display on the left edge.

You really couldn't doubt Tuala's effort at any stage of today's contest.

Kalyn Ponga

If there were any doubts over whether 'KP' was a big name player - they have well and truly been put to rest.

After a man of the match display in his sole-Origin appearance back in July, Ponga was in everything for the Knights today.

The custodian finished the game with 101 run metres, two try assists, two line break assists and four tackle breaks.

A sterling effort from our No.1.

Daniel Saifiti

Our Alpha-Male stood tall when it counted.

The big man was near-unstoppable all day up front, running for 174 run metres, 60 post contact metres and made 36 tackles.

A huge shift up front, but was he your man of the match? Have your say below!
