Man of the Match: Big performances in gritty display

How's the heart rate, Knights fans?

It was one of those afternoons at Moreton Daily Stadium in Redcliffe, as the nib Newcastle Knights edged out Cronulla 16-14 and solidified their spot in the NRL's top eight.

There were a number of strong performances in the gritty display, so don't forget to have your say on today's Man of the Match below!

Mitch Barnett

The Enforcer in the middle, Barnett stood up to be counted with two match-winning moments.

He may've been placed on report for high contact, but the desperate tackle from the back rower on a flying Briton Nikora prevented the Sharks from taking a 16-8 lead.

Even more crucial, Barnett came up with a one on one strip in the final ten minutes of the game after Brayden Trindall broke the line.

Two match defying moments to go with 134 run metres and 34 tackles.

A massive, match winning display.

Enari Tuala

How about the form of Enari in the last few weeks!

Tuala has overtaken Kalyn Ponga as the Club's top try scorer for this season after picking up a double this afternoon.

Tuala's stunning finish in the second half got the Knights back in the contest, while his first was the fastest of the NRL season so far.

The Townsville product also picked up 90 run metres and was ever-reliable under the high ball all afternoon.

Jake Clifford

Ice in the veins.

Clifford's boot was ultimately the difference on the scoreboard, with the No.6 booting 4/5 including two clutch penalty goals in the second half.

Clifford has also been incredibly consistent since shifting south and was again one of the Knights' best today.

But was he your man of the match? Have your say below!
