The nib Newcastle Knights Knock-On-Effect NSW Cup team has gone down 38-16 to the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles at this afternoon at McDonald Jones Stadium.
In a pre-cursor to the NRL game, the side went down seven tries to three.
After a grinding initial opening to the game, Blacktown Workers opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Denzal Tonise.
Tim Simona had the Sea Eagles second soon after to improve the lead for the away side.
The Knights bridged the deficit when Simi Sasagi scored off a pin-point McKenzie Baker kick on the stroke of half-time.
With the scores at 12-4, the Sea Eagles were the next to score with Tolutau Koula crossing over in the 45th minute.
Koula had his second on the 57th minute mark to extend the Sea Eagles lead.
A procession of tries followed as the Sea Eagles ran away with the lead scoring another three tries while Mat Croker and Daniel Ticehurst scored consolation tries for the Knights.
