NSW Cup side earns consecutive victory

The nib Newcastle Knights Knock-On-Effect NSW Cup side has won their second consecutive game with a 30-16 victory over Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles at H.E Laybutt Field, Sydney on Sunday.

The side backed up their dominant showing against the Dragons the week before with the victory over Blacktown to rise to seventh on the ladder.

The Sea Eagles started strongly against the Knights and raced out to a 10-0 lead after 12 minutes.

Harry Van Dartel got the red and blue back into the contest with a try at the 24th minute mark.

The Knights took advantage of the momentum swing and began to put more points on the board.

Simi Sasagi and McKenzie Baker crossed for Newcastle either side of the half-time break to put the Knights into an 18-10 lead.

The Sea Eagles responded on the 50th minute mark when Jordin Leiu scored to bridge the gap to two points.

However, the Knights continued on with their performance and ran in another two tries.

Garrett Smith scored the all-important four-pointer in the 54th minute before hard-working front-rower Mat Croker put the icing on the cake when he crossed with five minutes to play.

The Knights would come to full-time with a 30-16 victory and secure their second win of the season.

The NSW Cup side is now seventh on the ladder with two wins and two losses. They will take on the Newtown Jets next Saturday at Henson Park.
