Sauaso Sue signs with the Knights

The nib Newcastle Knights are excited to announce the signing of former Bulldogs forward Sauaso 'Jesse' Sue on a two year deal.

A Samoan international with 142 NRL games to his name, Sue will link with the Knights in time for the beginning of the 2021 pre-season.

A talented and damaging middle forward who can also feature on an edge, Sue debuted for the Wests Tigers in 2013, making his test debut for Samoa in the end-of-year World Cup.

The 28-year-old went on to play 116 games for the Tigers before shifting to the Bulldogs in 2019, adding another 16 games to his career tally.

With 10 test appearances for Samoa, Sue provides International experience and grit to an already-powerful Knights forward pack.

Knights Head of Recruitment, Clint Zammit, said he was pleased to secure Sue's signature.

“Jesse adds essential elements to our paying roster, including experience and uncompromising toughness, developed over 8 years playing at the top level," Zammit said.

"He is a highly respected player and Samoan leader, recommended to the Knights by several highly regarded people who fully endorse his work ethic and cultural leadership.

"He also adds another body shape we need to balance out our pack to cater for the modern game.”

The confirmation of Sue's contract sees him tied to the Knights until at least the end of the 2022 season.
