Social: Watson returns home, injury updates, podcast returns

See what the nib Newcastle Knights players have been getting up to in their down time.

We've been keeping across the social media accounts of our troops and this is what they've been up to.

Having been away from the team following his surgery on his injured achilles, Connor Watson returned back to his home and amongst the squad.

The boys were happy to have him back even though there was a bit of fun poked at him for his new form of transport over Tex Hoy's and Sione Mata'utia's Instagram feeds.

With Connor safely back home and the current bubble restrictions in place, the boys have plenty of spare time to chip away at their podcast.

Updates from the Casualty Ward

Injuries haven't been kind to the boys this year, but it's great to see Jayden Brailey and Bradman Best in good spirits.

Despite everything that's going on in the world, our brilliant supporters remain strong and loyal.

Kalyn Ponga took to his Instagram to say thanks to those who continue to support the boys.

He said: "Thank you to all our supporters that keep turning up despite the world we're living in. All love x"

KP also showed love towards one of his teammates, who he's admitted he has a bit of a 'man-crush' on - Phoenix Crossland.

Crossland scored his first try of his NRL career against the Tigers and Ponga seemed to be proud.

Many of the boys have acquired nicknames over the years, largely due to the way they play their footy, and back-rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon, who sometimes goes by 'The Hitman' or 'The Shield', was after suggestions for a nickname for Jacob Saifiti.

He recommended 'The Sledgehammer' on one of our recent Instagram posts, and we don't mind it given the way he's playing...
