Joey's Rd10 Preview: Supporting KP & Best, returning stars, halves battle

Roosters v Raiders

Joey’s Tip: Roosters

It’s the Grand Final rematch to kick-off the round and Joey has gone with the same winners as the 2019 final game, picking the Roosters.

With a long list of injuries in the Canberra ranks, Joey said it was too hard to pick the underdogs causing an upset.

“Too many injuries for the Raiders,” Joey said.

“They’ll aim up…I think it’ll be a low-scoring game, but I think the Roosters get home with their class.”

Storm v Titans

Joey’s Tip: Storm

Gold Coast don’t have to travel top far from home for their match with the Storm as the two play on the Sunshine Coast, but The Great Man doesn’t think it’ll help them much.

He’s predicting the Storm will win and continue rising up the ladder.

Tigers v Broncos

Joey’s Tip: Tigers

“This is a tough one to pick,” Joey said about this Friday night bout.

Brisbane won their first game since returning from the Covid-break but he didn’t see enough from them to tip them for this weekend.

“Broncos found some form last week, but I’ll go the Tigers in this one,” he said.

McCullough: My role, future and Souths threat

Dragons v Bulldogs

Joey’s Tip: Dragons

The Dragons pulled off a massive victory over Manly last weekend and Johns expects them to add to the Bulldogs’ woes in this match.

He said he was enjoying the style of play the Saints had been showcasing recently.

“The Dragons have found their formula to win,” he said.

“They’ve got rid of all their set plays, they’re playing over the advantage line with plenty of spirit. I think they win this one and win well.”

Rabbitohs v Knights

Joey’s Tip: Rabbitohs

He’s done it again. For the second straight week, Joey has picked against us.

Although he’s picked the Rabbitohs for this Saturday evening, he predicted it wouldn’t be by much.

“I think Rabbits in a tight one,” he said.

“I was really impressed with the Bunnies against the Tigers. I thought their forwards were really strong, Reynolds’ attack was impressive.”

Manly v Eels

Tip: Eels

The Sea Eagles have struggled without their stars Tom Trbojevic and Addin Fonua-Blake, and as they come up against the table-leaders, Joey expects their troubles will only worsen.

The former Newcastle halfback has tipped the Eels to continue their top spot.

Departing Ese'ese committed to strong finish

Warriors v Sharks

Tip: Warriors

The Warriors are still yet to lose since moving to the Central Coast and that has Joey excited.

He’s picked the New Zealand club to topple Cronulla and edge their way close to the top eight.

“I question the depth of the Sharks,” he said.

“It’s at Central Coast, and they [Warriors] have a great record there.

Panthers v Cowboys

Tip: Panthers

“The Panthers are the bet of the century,” Joey said about the last clash of the round.

With multiple big-name injuries plaguing the Cowboys at present, The Great Man hs picked the Panthers to have a big game suggesting there’s too much responsibility on the few Cowboys stars left.

“They’re under a lot of pressure,” he said.

“All their responsibility goes on their young halfback, Jake Clifford, to create everything.

“Penrith by plenty.”
