Joey’s Rd2 tips: Winners to push on while others bounce back

We all know how difficult tipping in the NRL can be at the best of times.

Luckily for you, the greatest man to ever pull on the red and blue jersey has you covered.

In his new series previewing and reviewing every single nib Newcastle Knights game in 2020, Andrew 'Joey' Johns will also be providing his tips for all eight games, every round.

This week, Johns looks to follow on from a stunning first week which saw him correctly predict seven out of eight matches in round one.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v North Queensland Cowboys

Joey’s Tip: Cowboys

It’s one of the harder games to tip this week, however Johns backed the Cowboys to get up over their rivals south of the border.

“I think Josh Maguire will strengthen their forward pack,” Johns said.

“At most I can see the Bulldogs scoring 10-12 points.”

St George Illawarra Dragons v Penrith Panthers

Joey’s Tip: Panthers.

The Eighth Immortal correctly predicted a Panthers upset last week and was left in little doubt they would repeat their performance against a struggling Dragons side.

Brisbane Broncos v South Sydney Rabbitohs

Joey’s Tip: Rabbitohs

Both tight winners last week, this game shapes as another flip of the coin for tipsters.

Johns pointed to the suspension of Tevita Pangai Junior as a huge loss for the Broncos, backing the Rabbitohs to get the chocolates at Suncorp Stadium.

New Zealand Warriors v Canberra Raiders

Joey’s Tip: Raiders.

Johns was in little doubt over this result, predicting the Raiders to get over the top of the Warriors following a bizarre week which has seen the Auckland-based side shift to the Gold Coast due to international travel restrictions.

Sydney Roosters v Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles

Joey’s Tip: Roosters

Both surprise losers in Round One, Johns predicted the Roosters to bounce back following their loss to Penrith last week.

“I’ll go the Roosters, but I think this one will be really tight,” Johns said.

Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks v Melbourne Storm

Joey’s Tip: Storm

Following their comprehensive 18-4 win over the Sea Eagles last week, Johns again predicted the Storm to get the job done this weekend.

Wests Tigers v Newcastle Knights

Joey’s Tip: Knights

Joey stuck solid with his former Club, predicting them to repeat their defensive performance from last week.

Gold Coast Titans v Parramatta Eels

Joey’s Tip: Eels

The Eighth had little to say about this one, given both Club’s form-lines over the past year.
