Randall rewarded with Development Deal

Train and trial player Chris Randall has been recognised for his hard work and rewarded with a Developmental deal for the 2020 season.

A hooker with versatility, Randall was a Developmental Player in 2019, with 2020 acting as his second stint as part of the fulltime squad.

According to Recruitment Manager Alex McKinnon, the one-year-deal for Randall is a credit to his work ethic throughout the pre-season.

“Chris has done it the hard way. He has had to earn it,” McKinnon said.

“He’s a local product who has trusted that there is a development pathway for him at this Club.

“He trained in the pre-season last year and was elevated late in the year to a development contract and now with Danny Levi having departed, we believe there is an opportunity for him to progress into first grade.”

The 24-year-old made 19 appearances in the Canterbury Cup side last season, building on the 13 games he played in 2018.

Having secured his future for the remainder of the year, Randall is thrilled.

"I'm stoked," Randall said.

"At the start of the pre-season I was train and trial for eight weeks.

"To work hard and get a reward like a Development Contract and stay here for the year, I'm stoked."
