With the NRL draw officially being revealed today, we at newcastleknights.com.au have pulled out some of the numbers and stats that matter in regards to our fixture list for next season.
Top eight teams we play twice.
While the season will no doubt be unpredictable, there's no doubting the nib Newcastle Knights have been fortunate in which teams they play twice. The team will meet both of this years grand finalists, as well as minor premiers Melbourne, just once.
Kilometres the team will travel this year.
Aside from the now-annual trip to Brisbane for Magic Round, the Knights will only leave New South Wales three times during the season. These tough away trips will be to face the Warriors and Broncos, as well as a maiden journey to the Cowboys' brand new stadium in Townsville.
Games scheduled to be played during the day.
In an absolute win for fans, the Knights will play more games during the day then they will at night, allowing for members and fans to stream through the gates for the more family-friendly fixtures.
Games requiring a turnaround of greater than seven days.
The bigger the gap between games, the fresher the boys will be when they take the field. In fact, only one turn around is less than five days, between the round nine clash with the Dragons and the round 10 game against Sydney Roosters.
Days until our season kicks off against the Warriors at McDonald Jones Stadium.
We're officially counting down as of today!
