Numbers: Workhorse winger and milestone man

These are the numbers that matter.

While stats can't tell you everything, they do paint a very telling picture.

202

Run metres made by Shaun Kenny Dowall.

The man known as SKD was a star performer for the nib Newcastle Knights this week, with the winger easing the load for his pack with constant go-forward.

Highlights: Knights finish strong at home

Kenny-Dowall was a constant headache for the Cowboys defensive line, and while he didn’t manage to cross the stripe, his 50 post-contact metres, 4 tackle breaks and line break proved to be a major factor in the Knights’ win.

35

Tackles made by Mitch Barnett.

While Barnett provided constant headaches for the Cowboys in attack, he was just as solid in the Knights’ defensive line.

Barnett was able to handle everything the Cowboys threw his way, with the handy second rower not missing a single tackle in an outstanding performance.

50

First grade games for Josh King.

Watch: Pearce does it on his own

King was impressive in his milestone appearance, making 26 tackles, 13 post-contact metres and a tackle break in his 39 minutes on the field.

8

Tackle breaks by Kalyn Ponga.

He also scored two tries and set up another.
