A double from Tex Hoy helped seal the deal for the Canterbury Cup Knights on Saturday.
The fullback turned centre secured back-t0-back second half tries in the Newcastle’s 30-22 victory over Penrith.
While the Panthers opened the scoring in the first minute, the visitors responded quickly through Mitch Andrews.
Chris Randall then did his part before Malakai Watene-Zelezniak got over for the home side to make things interesting.

With the scores tight, a try to Jirah Momoisea in the 39th minute saw the Knights go into the break up 18-10.
It was a slow second half start by the blue and red who were caught napping when William Burns scored his first of two.
Fortunately, a line-break from Hoy saw the livewire crash over for a double and Mason Lino was perfect with the boot to wrap up the win.
