Klemmer recalled to NSW Blues for Origin decider

nib Newcastle Knights prop David Klemmer has been recalled to the NSW Blues and will join the team in camp at Bondi on Wednesday for the 2019 Holden State of Origin Game Three Series-decider at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium in a week.

Klemmer, who broke his wrist in Game One and was ruled out of Game Two, comes back in place of Tariq Sims, whose bid to beat a dangerous contact charge failed at the NRL Judiciary on Tuesday night (2 July).

Knights Director of Football, Brian Canavan said the Club is pleased for Klemmer.

“We’ve got the two best bookends in rugby league playing together in David Klemmer and Daniel Saifiti,” Mr Canavan said.

“It’s the most high pressure game you can get and David will add balance to their pack.”

A replacement for Klemmer in the Knights' Round 16 team to face the Warriors on Saturday will be named later in the day.
