Jersey Flegg Knights crack top eight with Dogs win

It was another 12-point win against the Bulldogs on Sunday, this time for the Newcastle Knights Jersey Flegg side.

The red and blue had their opponents on the ropes early as Elijah Rasiga opened the scoring account just 45 seconds into the match.

Within ten minutes, Luke Huth and Bayden Searle also added tries to the tally before Rasiga went over for the double minutes before the halftime break.

Sing it loud and proud!

The Knights showcased their strong defensive skills and a polished performance out wide to keep the Bulldogs scoreless by halftime, 22-0.

Finally, the Dogs got one down via Frank Kuresa a minute following the break, but Tex Hoy soon replied with a four pointer in the 38th minute.

Searle nailed the conversion and the Knights blew out the score line, 28-4.

Another ten minutes went by with no points from either side before Lewis Hamilton joined the party with a try to bring the score to 32-4.

It was the last time the red and blue would score as the Bulldogs picked up their game with a try from Blake Clayton and a double from Isaiah Tass five minutes apart. It was 32-20.

Despite a chase from the Dogs, a handy lead saw the Knights bring home the chocolates.

Newcastle 32-20 over the Dogs to move them into the top eight.
