Pearce NSW push, Napa v Klemmer Origin audition

There’s been no shortage of interest in our boys this week.

The nib Newcastle Knights attracted plenty of media attention and we’ve pulled together some of it in case you missed it.

PEARCE HAS FOUND HIS MOJO

Peter Sterling has heaped praise on Knights No.7 Mitchell Pearce.

“He’s changed his style a little bit,” Sterling said on Wide World of Sports.

“When he plays direct, he plays better than anyone else.”

With Kalyn Ponga back at fullback, Pearce has appeared more forthright in his approach to the game.

“Everything looks to be a little bit more controlled for him,” Sterling said.

Pearce: Might get a couple of them scrubbed off

“Two great performances in a row.

“He was probably the difference against Parramatta and the Warriors.”

NAPA CLAIMS KLEMMER CLASH IS ORIGIN WARM-UP

Dylan Napa has an eye on Origin.

The Bulldogs prop faces off against David Klemmer, the man he replaced at the Club, this week and says he will be using the game as an opportunity to show Maroons coach Kevin Walters what he will bring to the Queensland jersey.

Napa and I bring out the best in each other

“He plays in the same position as me and plays in a different team, so it’s always going to be a battle in the middle. But this game won’t hit home for me as [much as] it will for the other guys who played with Dave for years,” Napa told Big League.

“I just want to get back to playing good footy so I can put myself in a position to be selected [for Queensland].”
