Power Rankings Round 7

In 2019, newcastleknights.com.au will be awarding our own 3, 2, 1 each week.

We’ll keep tally as we rank the performances of our troops throughout the season.

Mitchell Pearce has secured the top spot following a man of the match effort against Parramatta on Sunday.

Here’s how the nib Newcastle Knights look after Round 7.

3 - Mitchell Pearce

The captain led by example on Sunday.

Pearce goes solo and delivers

He steered his team around the park as quality leaders do but equally as impressive was the way he conducted himself defensively.

Pearce has an 80 percent tackle efficiency but led their line speed and whacked his opposite number, Mitchell Moses with some heavy shots.

He also teammates up with Edrick Lee to drive Blake Ferguson into touch at a crucial stage of the match.

Put this on repeat

With an ace kicking game and a brilliant solo try, the halfback produced perhaps his best ever game in the red and blue jersey.

2 - Danny Levi

The hooker was electric.

Not only did he top the tackle count for the Knights with 41 but he ran for over 100 metres and produced two try assists.

1 - Kalyn Ponga

He made three tackle breaks and ran for 160 metres.

He scored an impressive try, backing up a break made by Levi and was perfect with the boot, kicking four from four.
