Injury update: Positive news for Ramien and Mann

Jesse Ramien picked up a minor issue to his AC joint following Sunday’s win over Parrmatta.

The nib Newcastle Knights centre played 73 minutes of the 28-14 victory before leaving the field but Head of Physical Performance, Balin Cupples expects Ramien to be available to play the Warriors this week.

“Jess battled through that second half as much as he could,” Cupples said.

“He suffered a minor grade AC joint sprain.

“At this stage, he’ll get a needle and build through his contact this week and it all looks like he’ll be available come this weekend.”

Another player who could return this week is Kurt Mann.

The utility has missed the previous three games due to a sternum injury.

According to Cupples, the 26-year-old is eyeing off a comeback as he ramps up his training load.

“Kurt had his sternum injury,” Cupples said.

“He’s been doing everything he can, both treatment wise and building through his training.

“He’s been doing plenty around the team. He hasn’t missed any sessions.

“We’re very hopeful we’ll see Kurt, if not this week, very shortly after.”
