Jersey Flegg fall to Eels

The Newcastle Knights Jersey Flegg Knights were unable to take down a red-hot Parramatta outfit on Saturday.

The Eels beat the Knights 24-16 at Dudley Oval.

“We started well early,” Coach Scott Dureau said.

“We led 10-0 and then we thought things would come easy.

“Parramatta fought hard and were more desperate than us.”

It was a fast start from the home side when prop Mat Croker crossed the line to open the scoring.

Seven minutes later and winger Justin Worley crossed to push the score out 10-0 but then the Knights took the foot off the accelerator.

The Eels posted four tries in succession before the Knights responded with a try to Jack Cameron late in the game.
