Imposing forward Daniel Saifiti copped a minor grade MCL strain and a minor mid-foot strain.

It will keep the 22-year-old on the sidelines for up to four weeks; an early blow for the new look squad.
“Yeah disappointing, he’s had a great pre-season and was probably one of our better forwards through the trials,” said fellow forward Tim Glasby.

“To see him go down like that was pretty disappointing.
“I’m sure he’ll work hard and do what he needs to do to get back as quick as he can.”

Luckily for the red and blue, there’s plenty of depth in the squad this year.
Herman Ese’ese and Josh King two middle men pushing to get back to the top grade, having played in the Canterbury Cup last week.
“We’ve got Herman there and some other really good young forwards coming through,” Glasby maintained.
“I’m sure whoever it is will step up and do that job.”
