Connor Watson has joined the Wests Group Newcastle in launching the drought aid campaign 'Parma for a Farmer'.
Wests and the nib Newcastle Knights are calling all Novocastrians to join them to raise money and enjoy a schnitzel in the process.
An extension of the Buy a Bale program that evolved from a humble hay bale drive initiated by Charles and Tracey Alder in September 2013 and which has since delivered more than 160,000 bales of charitable hay across four states, Parma for a Farmer is an exciting new initiative just launched this week nationally.

"I'm proud the Knights are associated with such a great cause," Watson said.
"Our farmers need our help so it's important we all dig deep and make a contribution.
"The Club will have plenty of donation opportunities at our next home game in Round 25 against St George Illawarra, so I'd like to encourage everyone to buy a schnitzel at Wests and then come to the game."

Wests have joined hundreds of pubs and clubs across Australia in the campaign to give support to rural communities suffering through possibly the worst drought in Australian history.
Parma for a Farmer requires that participating outlets donate $1 from every Parma sold during the campaign.
The Wests Group Newcastle together with schnitzel supplier Red Funnel have doubled their money and together pledged $2 from each Parma sold throughout the entire Wests Group for the next month.

"We're asking the people of Newcastle to support us in supporting this much needed cause by ordering our special 'Parma for a Farmer' available at all Wests Clubs over the next four weeks," Knights and Wests Group Australia CEO Philip Gardner said.
"It's our mission to give a very hefty donation to this terrific cause, and we're calling on you for your support."
$2 from every Parma ordered between Monday 13 August and Sunday 9 September 2018 will be donated directly to Buy A Bale.
