Knights sign forward JJ Felise effective immediately

Promising forward JJ Felise has joined the nib Newcastle Knights effective immediately after being released from his current contract with the Wests Tigers.

The deal is for the remainder of the season.

A standout in the 2018 ISP NSW Residents team, Felise has played 13 games in the top grade.

A middle player, Felise made his NRL debut with the Tigers in 2016.

While he hasn't featured in first grade this season, the move to the Knights presents an opportunity for him to re-establish himself as an NRL player.

"JJ is a player who provides us with depth," General Manager Football, Darren Mooney said.

"It's no secret we're a little thin in the middle and JJ is seeking a pathway to first grade.

"He's been looking for an opportunity to showcase his skills and we'll give him every chance."

A product of Logan, Queensland, the 22-year-old joined the Tigers from famed rugby league school Keebra Park where he won a Schoolboy title.

Such is his talents, Felise represented the Junior Kangaroos in 2016 in a successful side which featured Knights playmaker Connor Watson.

An aggressive ball runner, the signing of Felise only strengthens the Club's depth.
