Jersey Flegg remain ladder leaders

The Newcastle Knights Jersey Flegg side continued their winning ways with a fourth consecutive win, 32-12, against the St George Illawarra Dragons at Michael Cronin Oval on Saturday.

In his first game for the Knights Under 20s, fullback Tex Hoy made a stunning start with a hat-trick as Newcastle took charge and set a steady pace to take the match by 20 points.

Hoy came out of the blocks early to score the first try of the afternoon in the 11th minute before teammate Beau Fermor followed shortly after.

Hoy took the double 10 minutes later to make it 16-0.

The Dragons took 33 minutes to get their first points via fullback Jason Gillard for the Knights to have a healthy 16-6 lead into the halftime break.

In the second stanza, off the bench Dylan Morris closed the gap for the Dragons but the Knights quickly replied as Brayden Musgrove landed the Knights' fourth try for the day in the 50th minute.

Two minutes later Hoy continued his damaging run, as he crashed over for his third try before hooker Tom Starling landed the final try in the 70th minute to seal the Knights fourth victory in a row, 32-12 over the Dragons.
