Newcastle Knights utility David Bhana will have an ACL reconstruction next week for the second part of surgery on his injured knee.

Bhana suffered a serious knee injury playing in the Club’s Reserve Grade match against the Blacktown Workers in Round 7.

The 24-year-old underwent his first operation of a two-stage knee reconstruction in April.

“I am definitely walking a lot better, but I’m still a bit stiff,” explained Bhana.

“I have got to work hard with the physios to try and get some range back in it before the next operation.”

Bhana is having daily treatment to help build strength and restore range for next week’s surgery.

“It is a long process but the physio staff have been good to me,” said Bhana.

“I have been doing upper body weights and pool recovery, but after this next one we’ll really hammer down and try and get some work done.

“After that hopefully on the road to recovery.”

Unfortunately, the injury means Bhana will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
