nib Newcastle Knight Dane Gagai says he's still pinching himself that he’ll get to pull on the Queensland jersey once again on Wednesday night.

“Having all the support from the fans, seeing what this jersey not only means to us but means to the whole of Queensland and to rugby league fans, it is just an unreal buzz,” Gagai told the media at Origin camp this week.

“It is always a massive honour to put this jersey on, when you go out there you just don’t want to let anybody down, especially your teammates and the fans.”

Gagai has had no trouble finding the line, with five tries scored in his four games of Origin.

“I was fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of a couple of tries but all I am focused on is just doing the best job I can for the team,” Gagai stated.

“Getting quick play the balls, getting to the ball on the full and finishing off.

“Whatever is happening in that moment, I want to be doing the best I can not to let the team down.”

Named in his usual Maroons spot on the wing, the 26-year-old says as soon as he got the call up he went into Origin mode.

“When I got the call up and came into camp then all my focus just purely went into the Maroon jersey and that’s the same if I am playing at Club level,” Gagai said.

“I have been here for over a week now so it’s just about focusing on my job and what I can do to help contribute to this team.”

Gagai will line up for his fifth Origin match on Wednesday night at Suncorp Stadium, with kick off at 8pm.
