The Reserve Grade nib Newcastle Knights were beaten 30-6 by the North Sydney Bears at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

First points of the match came from Bears' winger Sitiveni Moceidreke down the left side before another for North Sydney in the 24th minute via Anthony Cherrington, under the posts.

Bears’ Eli Levido converted and the visitors led the Knights 10-0.

It was back and forth between both sides before the Bears crossed for a try just before half time, Moceidreke again finding space in the left corner, to lead the Knights 14-0 into the break.

In the second half, a penalty just before the line in the 48th minute saw the Knights’ Pat Mata’utia charge through for the Knights' first points. Kainoa Gudgeon converted, but the Knights trailed 14-6.

Unable to contain the Bears' winger, Moceidreke, who rolled over for his third and fourth of the match, to make the final score 30-6.
