The Newcastle Knights joined staff of major partner Aurizon for a fun family night with the Knights at Hunter Stadium on Tuesday.

The players hosted an interactive football skills clinic for children under the big lights of the Club’s home ground.

Their proud parents watched on as budding rugby league stars took part in ball passing, kicking and tackling drills, whilst being mentored by the experienced first grade players.

The participants and their families then went upstairs to the stadium’s corporate hospitality suites where dinner was served with the playing squad.

Aurizon is an experienced national freight company, which moves a range of commodities including mining, agricultural, industrial and retail products for a diverse range of customers across Australia.

Aurizon has been a major partner of the Club for 5 years.

Former Newcastle Knight James McManus has a long association with Aurizon after being the face of their rail safety program a number of years ago.

James was MC for the event and relished the opportunity to reward and thank Aurizon staff for their valuable support.

“They have done some great work with our schools programs and it’s great to see so many here today,” James said.

“It’s important that all of our young players become knowledgeable about who supports us and who our major partners are, Aurizon being one of those.

“This event gives the players an opportunity to meet these guys and integrate everyone from Aurizon into the Knights family”.

“It’s a bit of a reward for the Aurizon staff. Their partnership is incredibly important and they have involved the community immensely”.
