It's Awesome August at the Newcastle Knights with the team set to play at their home ground, Hunter Stadium for four weeks in a row.
Knight Nathan Ross caught up with his teammates about the benefit this home stretch will give the team in building momentum.
"I think it will be really tough for other teams to come up here and play,' Peter Mata'utia said.
Since re-joining the Knights midway through this year, he's relished playing back in front of the Knights' passionate and vocal supporters.
"I know first hand how hard it is to play Newcastle up in Newcastle. A big part of that is the fans and once they get going it helps the team alot and is why we like to play at home alot," he said.
"The vocal noise from the crowd gets us going.
"It's a great day for Newcastle peope overall to get to the footy and support their local team.
"It's going to be great."
Meanwhile, new recruit Mitch Barnett has learned quickly how much home support helps the team.
"If there's a tight game, the fans always ride you home," he said.
"I've really noticed since coming to the Club, they have shown up in numbers and it's great they get behind us.
"You can always hear their chants and it gives you a bit of adrenalin to push to the next level."
